GoLynk is committed to complying with the Zimbabwe Data Protection Act [Chapter 11:22]. This policy explains how we handle data for our e-hailing ecosystem across Zimbabwe's secondary towns.
1. Introduction
GoLynk is a ride-hailing platform operated in Zimbabwe, connecting riders, drivers, and service providers in secondary towns currently underserved by existing transport platforms. This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile application, web portal, and related services.
2. Who This Policy Applies To
- Riders: Individuals requesting transport.
- Drivers: Individuals offering transport services.
- Hustlers: Users advertising trades on the Hustlers Map.
- Trip Guardians: Designated safety monitors.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
Includes name, OTP-verified phone number, email, gender (for safety matching), profile photos, and driver documentation (ID, License, Vehicle Reg).
3.2 Information We Collect Automatically
Includes precise GPS location during trips, device identifiers, app usage patterns, and trip telemetry (pickup/drop-off, distance, fare).
3.3 Audio Recordings
GoLynk activates encrypted in-trip audio recording for safety. Recordings are stored locally for 7 days and only uploaded if a dispute is filed with explicit consent.
3.4 Document & Identity Data
Driver documents are processed via AI for OCR and facial recognition to ensure platform security and regulatory compliance.
6. Location Data
Location data is central to GoLynk. Precise GPS data is collected for navigation, route tracking, and fare calculation. Hustler locations are blurred to 200m until a request is accepted. GoLynk does not sell location data.
9. Data Security
We use TLS for data in transit and AES-256 for data at rest. Driver documents are stored with restricted administrative access. Payment data is tokenized; we never store raw card or PIN details.
10. Your Rights
Users have rights to access, rectification, erasure (Right to be Forgotten), and data portability. You can exercise these rights directly in the app or via the link below.
11. Children's Privacy
GoLynk is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Any school-run recurring rides must be managed by an adult account holder.
