The app also includes operational features for restaurant administrators, riders, and platform administrators.

Account Information

Name, email, phone number, user role, profile details, and authentication identifiers provided through Firebase Authentication.

Order & Delivery

Restaurant, menu items, order totals, delivery address, history, and real-time delivery progress.

Location Information

Approximate or precise location (with permission) used to show nearby restaurants and calculate distance.

Payment Information

Transaction status and PayPal IDs. Payment processing is handled by PayPal and we do not store full card numbers.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage user accounts and protect them from unauthorized access.
  • Display restaurants, process orders, and coordinate delivery.
  • Calculate prices, fees, and taxes accurately.
  • Send confirmations, updates, and push notifications.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable, we process personal information because it is necessary to provide the app, fulfill orders, process payments, comply with legal obligations, or because you have granted permission.

5. Payments and PayPal

Savanna Eats uses PayPal for checkout. Payment info is processed by PayPal; we receive confirmation data like order IDs but do not store PayPal passwords or full card details.

6. Firebase and Cloud Services

We use Firebase for authentication, database, storage, and notifications. Information is stored securely according to Google's applicable privacy and cloud service terms.

7. Location Data

Used only for restaurant discovery, address handling, and delivery routing. You can manage these permissions in your device settings.

8. Push Notifications

If allowed, we send order updates and promotional notices. You can manage notification permissions in your device settings at any time.

9. Sharing of Information

We share data with restaurants, riders, PayPal, and infrastructure providers to fulfill your orders. We do not sell personal information as a business model.

10. Data Retention

We keep data as long as necessary to provide service, maintain records, resolved disputes, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

11. Security

We use reasonable measures like Firebase security rules and HTTPS to protect your data. Users are responsible for protecting their own account credentials.

12. Your Choices and Rights

You may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your data. Some data must be retained for legal or accounting reasons.

13. Children's Privacy

Savanna Eats is not intended for children who cannot legally create accounts or make payments. We will take steps to delete data if we learn a child has provided it without consent.

Your data may be processed outside your country. We rely on appropriate safeguards and service-provider terms to protect your information.

15. Third-Party Links

The app may open third-party services (PayPal, maps, etc.) which are governed by their own policies. Savanna Eats is not responsible for their practices.
